The Messenger from God:

ZEDERIC DAYMON STEPHENSON, SR.

was born April 21, 1975 in Dallas, Texas. Pastor Day, as he is affectionately known by his congregation, was given as a blessing to the late Pastor Elijah Stephenson, Jr. and Archie Mae Stephenson. Pastor Day placed his trust in Jesus Christ at the young age of eight, and after his baptism he became a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church (EBC). He was reared in a Christian home and was active in several ministries in EBC.

In 1994, Pastor Day responded to God’s call preaching his first sermon December 18, 1994. He was ordained on July 27, 1997.

Pastor Day was appointed as Associate Pastor of EBC in 2002. Pastor Day currently serves as the Senior Pastor of EBC after being appointed in May of 2004 by the late Pastor Elijah Stephenson, Jr. He is the third generation of pastors to lead this historic church founded by his grandfather the late Elijah Stephenson, Sr. He continues to lead the Evergreen Baptist Church to higher heights with his innovative mindset and inspiring messages. Pastor Day is married to the former Kristie Lanelle Jackson and God has blessed he and his wife with three beautiful children: Zederic Daymon, Jr., Kristien Zedai and Amari Charis Elija.

Pastor Day served as the ministerial advisor to the Christian Youth and Teens of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist District Association under the leadership of Moderator C.C. Robertson who is the Vice President at-Large of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America for ten years. Also, Pastor Day has served the Fellowship Missionary Baptist District Association’s Congress of Christian Workers in the capacities of Assistant Dean and currently as Dean of the Congress. On a national level, he is currently an instructor in the National Baptist Sunday School and Baptist Training Union Congress, where Dr. T.B. Boyd III is President and CEO.

Pastor Day is a studious person and highly values education. Pastor Day graduated from the University of North Texas in 1998 with a Bachelors of Business Administration. Currently he is pursuing his Master’s of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Pastor Day is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated. He is affiliated with the Irving Branch of the NAACP and has been the keynote speaker for the West Irving Improvement Association Black History Program. He serves as a mentor and motivator of children in West Irving. Pastor Day has been blessed to have opportunities to preach abroad in the Bahamas. He is highly respected for his intellectual and inspiring preaching.
